Myanmar taps TTM pipeline

BANGKOK, 27 May 2014: Greater Mekong Subregion countries view the annual TTM in Thailand as a vial opportunity to tap the Thailand gateway.

Myanmar’s Shooting Star Travels and Tours sales and marketing manager, Hla Nhinn Wai, told TTR Weekly by email that TTM gives them a cost-effective channel to meet buyers who are already bringing tours to Thailand and want to extend to an emerging destination like Myanmar.

“We appreciate that TTM gives us a packed appointment schedule with international buyers who are already interested in the region.”

Althought the event will increase opportunity to find more partners for the future, there was also an opportunity to boost business over the low season months July to October.

“We have suffered many cancellation from our clients who were due to visit Myanmar and were using Thailand as the first stop of their Southeast Asia holiday.”

It touches on the grave consequences for neighbouring countries that rely on entirely on Thailand as a gateway.

Shooting Star Travel and Tours offers a full spectrum of travel services whether for individuals and group to any destination within Asia and as well as in Myanmar.

First organised in 2001, TTM+ is designed primarily to help small and medium sized companies, products and services in Thailand and the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) countries to gain international exposure, especially those who cannot afford to attend the expensive travel trade shows in Asia or Europe.

Thailand’s annual travel mart will be held during 4 to 6 June 2014 at the Exhibition Centre Hall, IMPACT Mueang Thong Thani.

So far, there are 293 buyers and 443 sellers listed to participate the event.

Myanmar Tourism Federation will also join the event.
