Myanmar launches first ever civil aviation development conference

Myanmar launched its first ever civil aviation development conference in Yangon Monday.

The three-day conference is launched by Sphere Conference, which is the conference arm of Singapore Press Holding Ltd (SPH), and is supported by Myanmar's Ministry of Transport.

The event, participated by over 250 airport operators, regulators, senior airlines executives and key aviation stakeholders from across 20 countries, provides the platform for discussions and debates on the potential growth plans for Myanmar's airlines and airports.

The conference covers key areas of aviation, ranging from regulations and the financial landscape, airport-airline strategic stakeholders partnership, airport safety and security, fleet management to the future of the aviation sector and its potential.

The aviation leaders share expert insight and experiences in the hope of helping shape the aviation sector.

Myanmar has signed aviation treaties with 46 countries and currently, there is a total of 24 international airlines flying

Myanmar. They include Singapore/Silk Airlines, Thai Airways international, Malaysian Airlines System, Air China, China Southern and Eastern Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Qatar Airlines, Korean Airline, EVA Airline, Vietnam Airlines and Dragon Air.
