Myanmar to participate in U.S. fishery exhibit

Myanmar is planning to participate in the international fishery and sea products exhibition in Boston, United States from the 16 to 18 of March.

This will aim to showcase Myanmar's budding potential in the international sea food and fishery market.

"We are to take part in the upcoming Boston international fishery and sea products exhibition to find a market for us. It is the largest sea food show," said Tun Aye, chairperson of the marine products exporters association.

In the past, showcasing in United States was too costly for local businesses. With the current economic reforms underway, Tun Aye believes that Myanmar has a good chance of penetrating the U.S market to balance Chinese competition.

Myanmar will showcase fish and prawn products. They will also showcase chicken, pork and beef products as well. Depending on the success of the exhibit, they also plan to participate in Brussels Sea Food Show.
