Japan to provide US$ 6 million for National Single Window

Japan has offered US$ 6 million in assistance and technical aid to Myanmar to establish National Single Window, according to retired director of the ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA).

Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines and Brunei will establish an ASEAN Single Window at ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) which will start in December 31, 2015.

"The ASEAN Single Window and National Single Window systems are used by most ASEAN countries. I don’t know exactly about the connection between them. It is the duty of custom department. Nippon from Japan will add the two systems to Myanmar. It [Nippon] will implement the task in two years time," said Tin Tin Htwe, who is also the senior advisor of Parami companies.

The AEC can provide free trade and commerce between ASEAN countries. The least developed countries in ASEAN region: Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam are included in Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Vietnam (CLMV) countries but Vietnam is ready to include in the AEC at present.
