PepsiCo Rivals Coke with Myanmar Bottle Agreement

Efforts and discussions are being made to sign a bottle agreement in Myanmar by PepsiCo as competition with Coke goes immensely tough in a country remaining in isolation for quite a long period of time.

Competition Between Pepsi Versus Coca Cola

Coke on the other hand is already considering entirely setting up a bottling venture with a local company in Myanmar and that too Coke supplying after six decades altogether.

The trend of investing in Myanmar has changed a lot.

After the new president Thein Sein introduced some of the very successful economic and political reforms that has persuaded and attracted many western countries to invest in some of the very profitable projects in Myanmar.

Pepsi on the other hand wants to focus on local production in Myanmar and as a result will be signing related project within a year or so. Until now they are focusing on distribution rather than production in Myanmar.

As a result of it, PepsiCO has signed a contract with Diamond Star Co for the distribution of Pepsi beverages in Myanmar.

Diamond Star is a very huge company in Myanmar with rights to sell, distribute and import Pepsi, 7up and Miranda. A lot of promotions and effective marketing need to be done to establish a successful market in Myanmar capable of competition.
