Singapore-based construction firm to invest in high-rise building project

Singapore-based Soilbuild Construction Group will offer management and consultancy services in the construction of a 24-storey high-rise building project in Myanmar, according to a spokesperson for the firm.

In July this year, the firm signed an agreement to invest in Myanmar’s construction industry. The contract is worth approximately S$ 1.1-1.4 million.

The inspections committee for high-rise buildings recently allowed a construction permit for locally owned Super Shine Company to construct the building in Tamwe Township, Yangon.

“Since Myanmar has begun its political and economic reforms, there have been many opportunities for doing business here. Our firm will expand the modernization of construction projects in Myanmar,” said Ho Toon Bah, executive director of Soilbuild Construction Group.

Last month, a delegation led by William Koh Hock Ann, director of Soilbuild Construction Group, met with officials from the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration in Nay Pyi Taw, and discussed opportunities to invest in Myanmar as well as its rules and regulations.

Established in 1976, Soilbuild Construction Group provides services such as construction, architectural works, conservation and preservation, project management services and installation of electrical devices for residential buildings, houses, schools, churches, industrial buildings, and parks.
