Irrawaddy Princess to operate new luxury cruises

Irrawaddy Princess River Cruises will operate a new luxury cruise line along the Ayeyarwady River between Mandalay and Bagan in November.

The Princess Royal is the third river cruise ship run by Irrawaddy Princess, offering a three day, two night trip from Mandalay to Bagan and the same back to Mandalay.

"Foreign tourists are very interested in taking luxury cruises along the Ayeyarwady River. As we didn't have enough boats for the passengers, we built the Princess Royal to offer the itineraries. We will operate these itineraries at a cheaper price than other river cruises," said Tint Tint Lwin, managing director of Irrawaddy Princess River Cruise.

Irrawaddy Princess River Cruise has been operating RV Yandabo and Irrawaddy Princess II luxury cruises along the Ayeyarwady River since 2011.

Tour companies have started building luxury cruises and offering river cruise itineraries due to an increasing number of tourists who enjoy taking the cruise from Mandalay to visit the historic centres of Sagaing, Mingun, Bagan, and Bhamo along the Ayeyarwady River.
