German BMW to enter Myanmar’s market

Germany-based BMW automaker will launch its first showroom and servicing center in Myanmar, BMW’s partner, Inspiration de Formosa Group, said.

Inspiration de Formosa Group was registered as a trading and construction company at the Directorate of Investment and Companies Department and the group’s Managing Director is Than Than Htay.


Due to Myanmar’s reforming process, the international automobile companies, spare parts and servicing centers are penetrating to the country market.

Currently, the US-based Ford and Sout Korea-based KIA Motors are also planning to open their showrooms and servicing centers in Myanmar, coming second fourth-monthly weeks.

Moreover, Japan-based Toyota, Nissan Honda and Suzuki automobiles companies have already opened their showrooms, spare parts and servicing centers in Yangon, and Mitsubishi and Germany-based Bosch motor companies will launch sales and servicing centers in Yangon, this month.

The BMW brand is popular among the Myanmar people. The company was founded in 1917 and it's headquartered in Munich, the third largest city in Germany.

It also owns and produces mini cars, and is the parent company of Rolls-Royce Motor cars. BMW also manufacture motorcycles under BMW Mottorad.

The BMW Group sold over vehicles 1.7 million worldwide last year.
